Choose Ohio First Scholarship Program
With the support of the Ohio Department of Higher Education, Capital University participates in the Choose Ohio First Scholarship Program (COF). This program provides competitive scholarships to recruit and retain Ohio undergraduate students in STEM programs listed below. COF is part of a strategic effort to develop Ohio’s economic strength in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines and increase the number of STEM teachers

Eligibility and Application
This scholarship is open to students who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Capital in a variety of natural and computer sciences, mathematics, science and math education, engineering, nursing, and health-related fields. Eligible majors include:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Biochemistry
- Environmental Science
- Exercise Science
- Mathematics
- Computer Science
- Science and Mathematics Education
- Nursing
- Pre-med and Health Specializations
The Choose Ohio First Scholarship provides up to $5,200 per year, potentially renewable, and can be combined with other aid and awards for students who meet the following criteria:
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Ohio resident
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must submit FAFSA to Capital University
- Commit to the requirements of the Choose Ohio First program
- All students are encouraged to apply, though preference will be given to students with unmet financial need
